Assim vem na newsletter de 1-12-2006:
«Hello...
They say it's a curse to live through interesting times, but with the ever changing face of modern technology it's fair to suggest that music lovers are being presented with a level of choice and diversity that would have had even John Peel balking a few years back. So whilst it's unlikely that vinyl will ever be fully replaced in people's hearts as the purest medium for music, the idea of downloading has really come in from the cold recently - allowing instant access to a world of the good stuff. It's with this in mind that we've launched Boomkat Digital; an online service that integrates seamlessly into the existing site and endeavors to present new and exciting music in a manner which extends well beyond mere file extensions. So here we are then at launch day and (as you might have found squatted in your email yesterday) we're smashing the champagne bottle on a brand new and exclusive Deaf Center EP, backed up by the Type catalogue plus a cheap-as-chips label sampler. Yup, there's just the one label up there now but we'll be adding new labels every week with some nice exclusives and rarities lined up for the near future. It's all just a click away... Back to normal business and there's the small matter of a horrifically limited and utterly genius Delia Derbyshire LP to get the ears around - plundering the radiophonic seam which made her name. Having languished for years these recordings (pressed on vibrant green wax) are lush, sprawling and the utter juxtaposition to most library music. It'll be gone quicker than Road Runner, so get on it... Another slice of vinyl that will have you're stylus in raptures is the great new T++ 12", following on from the recent 'Aquatic / Storm' and more than living up to its predecessor. Bleached with a grinding tech template, 'Space Pong' and 'Space Break' see the Basic Channel nuances buffeted into new and exciting regions - as breaks and intricate dubwise maneuvers are brought into the fold. Now that the chocolate advent calendar has started its relentless march, for those feeling festive the new Boats album will provide the perfect accompaniment. Wrapped in a cover that looks not unlike a bijou Christmas Card, the album contained within is a snowfall of opaque electronics and classic songwriting. I can hear the log fire from here... Rounding things off is a seething chunk of dubstep styles from the Tempa lodge, with the incendiary Coki scarring 'Tortured' and 'Shattered' to vinyl and felling armies through the colossal bass drop that you're all waiting for. As ever there's much to discover, so look out for new releases from Mum, Hecker, Loefah, M.R.K.1, Panda Bear, Omen / Skream / N-Type, Mr Keaz and Circle. That's all folks! Nekkers...xx
